Durante as aulas, os alunos aprendem sobre a formação das rochas, os movimentos das placas tectônicas, a dinâmica dos vulcões e terremotos, a evolução da vida no planeta e a exploração dos recursos naturais. A disciplina é importante para entendermos os fenômenos naturais que ocorrem no nosso planeta e como eles afetam a vida humana. Além disso, a Geologia é fundamental para a exploração sustentável dos recursos naturais, como petróleo, gás, minerais e água.
