Biology is the scientific study of life and living organisms, encompassing their structure,
function, growth, origin, evolution, and interactions with the environment. It is a broad field
that includes many specialized branches such as genetics, ecology, microbiology, zoology,
and botany.
At its core, biology seeks to understand the fundamental processes that sustain life. This
includes studying cells, which are the basic units of life, and DNA, which carries genetic
information. Biologists also explore how organisms interact with each other and with their
ecosystems, shaping the balance of nature.
One of the most important concepts in biology is evolution, which explains how species
change over time through natural selection and adaptation. Another key idea is homeostasis,
the ability of organisms to maintain stable internal conditions despite external changes.
Biology is deeply connected to human life. It helps us understand health and disease,
develop new medicines, protect biodiversity, and address global challenges such as climate
change and food security. Ultimately, biology not only explains the mechanisms of life but
also highlights the interdependence of all living beings on Earth.
